Bright future for Connected Lighting at UK Construction Week

Building Tech Live (part of UK Construction Week 2018) was a huge success for Bright Green Connect, providing a new platform for our connected lighting LED driver portfolio.
As a pioneer in innovative intelligent LED driver technology, the Connect team were invited to exhibit as a partner in the IOT arena at Building Tech Live by host sponsors Gooee. The event was the perfect opportunity to showcase the Gooee dedicated Bluetooth Wireless Interface Module (WIM), designed to adapt multiple Bright Green Connect LED driver variants for use with the award winning Gooee platform. The Bluetooth WIM forms an integral component of the IoT LED lighting solution, enabling control of the LED driver while also forming the physical infrastructure of the wireless mesh network.
This was the first time UK Construction Week had an IoT arena, so we didn’t really know what to expect. However, we were extremely excited to launch the Bluetooth WIM product. IoT technology was of course a huge focus of the show, with exhibitors demonstrating the latest developments in this rapidly growing market space. It was evident that ‘smart buildings’ are no longer a concept for the future but are actually being designed and delivered today. We have been genuinely inspired by the Gooee platform, team and partner ecosystem whilst working through the development stages with them.
The response to Bright Green Connect at Building Tech Live was amazing. Our ethos – to support our partners, consult with our clients to deliver to their specific requirements, while continuing to be at the forefront LED driver technology and control – had high appeal for attendees at Building Tech Live. Within an hour of the show opening, we had received an incredible level of interest. From OEMs wanting to ‘enable’ their product ranges, to large-scale property developers who want to adopt cutting-edge connected lighting technologies into future developments, the fantastic range and quality of potential partners at UK Construction Week means this is an event we’ll definitely want to attend again.
We would like to say a big thank you to both the Gooee and Aurora teams for being fantastic hosts. It was also great to be able to connect with them on a more social level. The beer festival held each night after the show was a great spot to start the evening!
